Each year the Philippines are subjected to violent typhoons and flooding. Farmers suffer from the season changes and rice productivity falls.
Efforts are made to protect the rice fields and to counter climate ravages: researchers develop a hardier variety of rice, mangrove swamps slow down the force of wind and water. At the same time, there are typhoon warning systems and temporary camps for victims. Will Filipinos take up the challenge?
