Our arms belong to our center of levity, in our chest.  In this class with Anita Seiz, we will focus on the connection of our arms to our mid-back as well as the mobility of the collar bones and shoulder blades for efficient arm movement. The result – long, gracefully toned arms. This class is great for upper body and core work. Note - Be careful if you have shoulder or wrist strains or injuries.

I didn't see it was level 3 until it was over, and I couldn't do all the progression of the exercises, but this was lovely! Definitely challenging but not in an annoying way :).

Since I can't see you while you're practicing, I'm going to answer in a general way...
Often the upper area of the shoulder girdle into the neck is quite strained so I spend a lot of time "down training" these areas by emphasizing stretching and release while "up training" the upper core or mid-back. The mid back is where arm support comes from rather than the top of shoulders & neck.
Opening the chest and releasing neck tension needs to happen before we can access & strengthen mid-back support.
Do you have a foam roller or bolster ? or even use your rolled up yoga mat to lay on vertically to help open your chest & shoulders. Try out my bolster or foam roller videos to see if they may help!

This was a really great and interesting core workout. I typically find that when doing core work my shoulders get tense. I wonder if that's indicating weakness somewhere, or am I doing something wrong?

These exercise are great but the instructions leave out so many key pieces of what the body is doing in each exercise. there may be an instruction for the left leg for instance but you have to watch the video to see what the right leg is doing. If these were classical pilates moves, I would know them already but I don't have time this morning to watch the whole video first to learn these moves so I am going to look for a video with more verbal instructions on the movements.
