Play Again (2010)

Only available in Canada, United States

One generation from now most people in the U.S. will have spent more time in the virtual world than in nature. New media technologies have improved our lives in countless ways: information now appears with a click, overseas friends are part of our daily lives and even grandma goes online.

But what are we missing when we are behind screens? And how will this impact our children, our society, and eventually, our planet?

At a time when children play more behind screens than outside, Play Again explores the changing balance between the virtual and natural worlds. Is our connection to nature disappearing down the digital rabbit hole?

I suspect this is somewhat like preaching to the choir....the audience on this site likely already has a clear idea of the need for out of doors for their kids. And while their experience initially had a good impact upon the kids, did not last.....I suspect the parents would have been the best audience to have taken out with the kids. They are the ones who allow screen time to dominate their kids lives! I love that the outdoor schools exist.....but these kids barely got their feet wet!

This is a video that all Millennials should to watch so that we can take a step back and observe where we are heading as a species. Being a young Millennial myself, I have experienced the tech cravings and it can be hard, especially in today's world.

You sound very wise. Your parents must be proud of you.
