What a wonderful video on how to do the power yoga positions correctly and safely. I have only been doing yoga seriously for about 2 months. Watching this video will definitely help me start to get the best out of my practice.

This was my first ever power yoga class. Excellent tuition.
I'll definitley be looking for more of Jesse's videos.

What a great video! I've been yoga for a long time but was never sure if I was getting the full benefit from it.
It was awesome to have someone explain each element properly.
Thanks so much. I know this will enhance my practice!

I have been looking for the proper body positions in yoga for a long time. The soul part of yoga is difficult if your body is unhappy.
Thank you to Jesse from the bottom of my heart.

I have been doing strength training for many years now but have always had a slight a weekness in my hips. After some research i found Jesse Enrights Smart yoga and this is the second time i have followed this video this week. I really enjoy following it as its perfectly explained for beginners, so thank you Jesse... now to find a follow on lesson. If anyone can recommend one then that would be a great help.

Hi Laura :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the class!!
Try searching videos under the heading beginner or fundamentals for your next step.
There should be a lot of great classes to choose from.

I hope that helps!

Mr. Enright has surpassed anyone I have seen prior on explaining positions, hand use and how to bring your leg up between your arms. I give him a 10!

I'm 6 mths into yoga - very much a beginner but fairly strong and flexible, so I don't find most basic poses too difficult...but instruction such as this one takes it to a new level. I find that even with the same amount of time, doing each pose right, being mindful of breathing - the benefits are completely different. I feel faster improvement in strength and balance, and less mysterious soreness the next day. Jesse is so calming and easy to understand, thank you!!

Thank you for this brush up Jessie! I have to teach my first intro to power class tonight and so this practice was exactly what I needed today! Thanks it was wonderful :) namaste

I wish I had found this video when I was a real beginner !! It would have been so great. As it is, after a few months of practice, I found the pace was too slow for my taste, and all the explanations were bugging me while I tried to focus on my breath.
Complete beginners, go for it though, it's great to begin and be mindful of injuries. Thanks Jesse

This really is a great beginner video. I have done many yoga classes but never before have I received such great explanations of how my body and breath should align like this class. Wonderful class that teaches the essential basics of how yoga can work for everyone.

Fabulous. Jesse is so smart, and as someone returning to yoga, by listening to his explanations and guidance, my muscle memory felt like it was activated! wonderful! Thank you!-Jenny

Wow that was great' I'm a beginner to yoga, and I loved it. Got about 20 mins into it before sitting out in childs pose for five then back in till end.
love watching you at the end making it look so beautiful and easy. thanks for the vid.

i've been practicing for many years and was not sure i wanted to do a beginner's class, but I am glad i did, it was a very good refresher.

heartofwood, posted on October 11, 2012

I'm not necessarily a beginner, but this is a great reminder for perfecting poses and technique. Even though it's slow, when you're really focusing on your posture and strengthening certain muscles, it can be quite challenging. I'll definitely continue to come back to this one.

Jesse has such great articulations. Love his style and his fluid motions. Listen, watch and leanrn, your yoga will always be better after his classes.

Very helpful to a newbie on getting into the positions. how to breath, when to look for uncomfortableness. Very very good.

mrenkow, posted on February 16, 2012

This class would be great for people that are brand new to yoga. I am more advanced, but I think it's important to get a reminder on proper alignment from time to time. Jesse is a great instructor.

First class ever. Thanks for a great experience! I feel inspired.

Shaytaki, posted on February 8, 2011

This is seriously wonderful, patient and kind. As a beginner with no formal training, this was exactly what I needed to understand what I was actually supposed to be doing instead of doing a "hopeful mimic" of what I was seeing. Thank you for your knowledge!

jremil, posted on May 28, 2010

I love the instructions. I have low back issues and his tips allow me to practice yoga safely! Love the way you teach. Thank you!

LauraCYW, posted on April 19, 2010

There was an article in today\'s LA Times warning those practicing at home about improper techniques. This is a great class to help beginners understand proper posture and alignment. Even as an intermediate yoga practitioner, I found this helpful. I think it is wise to revisit classes like this to remind us to be aware of our body and our posture. Thanks Jesse. Looking forward to more of your videos!

jenbee79, posted on April 5, 2010

I really liked that he emphasized not to throw your body through the motions, but to build strength through them. Very good teacher.

Excellent video! I very much appreciate Jesse\'s patient, explanatory style. Had I started Yoga with someone such as him I\'d have been an instant fan instead of a slow, reluctant one - thank you!

robyn3kids, posted on February 4, 2010

I really like this video. He takes you step by step what you need to be doing during your practice, rather than just throwing your body through the motions. Gives great cues. I would love more from him. I have applied what I learned from him in other classes and find myself \"feeling\" it more.

fantastic! I think all beginners should become familiar with these technique tips.
I sure wish I would have come across these when I was first learning. This is even beneficial for those who aren\'t beginners!
Thank you

I've done yoga off and on for several years and no one has ever described the poses as well as Jesse does in this video!

brandiglass333, posted on June 5, 2014

Jesse does an AMAZING job of describing perfectly the nuances that so many instructors miss.
He explains not only the movements in detail, but the reasoning for them as well. I'm fairly new to yoga and completely new to power yoga, but I LOVE the depth of detailed descriptions we are graced with - when moving it's easy to understand "what should feel how". I've not yet seen a better combination of verbal instructions and a visual moving example.

GREAT JOB JESSE! Thank you for this base of knowledge and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

Sincerely grateful,
