Yoga Prop Empowerment: Raise the Stakes

Episode 3
Available worldwide

Shannon continues her exploration of yoga props to create a deeper, fuller, more introspective practice. In this sequence the use of a blanket empowers lower back health in therapeutic standing poses, nourishing seated forward folds and twists, and a deeply relaxing downward-facing shavasana. Dive into the space of yourself, raising the stakes on your own experience.

These practices are taught as a private class, pointing key actions and alignment principals while going through a centering and challenging sequence.

Props: Blanket

I really enjoyed the practice, but felt I wanted a little longer to drop in to each of the postures. It´s a shame that more time wasn´t allowed for sorting blankets out... as we at home don´t have our own personal teacher to fold it and put in the right place at the right time!

While I do not mind the instructor, the talking is too much and too fast. She is helping the student through changing positions into this practice while I am doing it on my own and have to play catch up. The "joking" takes away my focus. Other than this, I enjoyed the poses.

This practice allowed
me to move deeper into forward bends, opening my shoulders and chest. Very therapeutic and empowering
