Landscape as Muse: Robson Valley with Matthew Wheeler (2007)
In the Robson Valley we meet with Matthew Wheeler. As we view some of his works, he tells us of his life capturing images of the dramatic landscapes of his youth. His interest in science has influenced his art. Currently, he is taking photographs of the landscape through a lens made of ice.
This led him to create dreamscapes, or the way you might see the landscape in a dream. He shows us a bit of his process of creating ice lenses. Next, using a movie camera, he films flowers dancing in the wind. His body of work provides fleeting glimpses of another world, one that doesn’t quite exist.
