From Science to God (Peter Russell) – Part 2
Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove

Could there be a scientific explanation of consciousness that is outside the realm we consider reality? Host Peter Russell continues his discussion with Jeffrey Mishlove about consciousness in the material world.

Russell provides a clear summary of the Theory of Relativity and its implications. He explains that as mass speeds up, space and time decrease and mass increases. This is why it is impossible for mass to move at the speed of light; mass would reach infinity, requiring an infinite amount of energy to move it, which doesn't exist.

Light, however, does move at the speed of light. Because of this, from light's perspective there is no space or time. Russell argues that because consciousness is not matter and has no mass, consciousness does not exist in space or time and is more like light.
