Sedona (2012)

Available worldwide

Two inspiring stories of self-discovery intertwine over a day in mystical Sedona. One follows successful advertising executive Tammy on her birthday as she drives from Portland to Phoenix to land the biggest client of her career. A wrong turn gets her lost and takes her into Sedona by mistake, where a local tour plane runs her off the highway right in the middle of town during an emergency crash landing. She’s forced to wait in Sedona while her damaged car is repaired.

Across town, uptight lawyer Scott, vacationing with his partner Eddie and their two young sons, embarks on a family day hike out in the forest among the majestic red rocks. Eddie has brought workaholic Scott to Sedona for some rest and relaxation. They wind up in an unexpected frightening adventure out on the hiking trails when their 7-year-old Denny gets lost. The ensuing frantic search for the little boy sends Scott into a profound life-changing journey that forces him to examine his priorities and determine what’s truly important in life.

Meanwhile, Tammy unwittingly begins a spiritual transformation of her own as she encounters an array of quirky locals, each touching her in different meaningful ways. A string of bizarre coincidences spirals her out of control, leaving her haunted by her past and forcing her to face her demons head on. Letting her guard down, she confronts the implausible possibility that she has been brought to Sedona for a greater purpose.

A selection of the Spiritual Cinema Circle.

i was laughing and tearing up all threw out the film.! i really appreciate the normalizing of gay couples, its usually a joke, they're stereotypical and flamboyant, so this was refreshing. Loved the story, all the characters, ending was phenomenal. 5 stars

cute and awesome

I have lived in Sedona for over 25 years. While the scenery is nice, there are no magic powers and we resent the commercialism that comes along with all the hype. They have locked us out of nature, jacked up housing prices, they take advantage of hotel and restaurant laborers, they cheat us out of decent wages, we are forced to pay to park anywhere, and God forbid if you get caught sleeping outside you get locked in a cage after being beat up by thugs with badges. Stop idolizing this place, its just like any other except worse.

Loved it! Dying to go to Sedona!

Its not all its cracked up to be. Its crowded, expensive as hell, and sold to the highest bidder. There are quacks and rip off schemes everywhere. Dont believe the hype, its just an overpriced neighborhood with some reddish mountains and red dirt, nothing more.

Some of my most magical experiences have happened there. You create your own experiences in life. What you focus on matters.

I loved every minute of it. The juxtaposition of the feminine versus the masculine way was striking. Very creative! Beautiful scenery.

I usually try to be generous but I also usually try to be honest. You know how they say if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything. Well...there you go....too transparent and too saccharine for my tastes, a lightweight film.

So beautifully done. I must say tears were shed <3 Thank you!

I loved Sedona when I was there more than 20 years ago. I will go back soon. This was a very interesting story, quirky and enjoyable film. The protagonist ultimately misses her very important meeting because the meeting she decides to attend is a meeting with someone whom she shares a closer connection to even her own job and what a wonderful way to end a movie. Somehow you do feel something when you are in Sedona, I am not sure what it is except that it is a nice feeling and you feel connected to the mountains and trees and earth.

Stunning scenery and beautiful story.

This is exactly happening to so many around us. Why don't we get the message. More you want to dig out yourself out of that hole the deeper you go in. Why don't we realize that we are creating our world moment by moment and bit by bit. Great movie, probably paid by Sedona chamber of commerce but still acceptable since message is grounding.

This was the 2nd time seeing it! Sooo glad I did! The first time, I completely missed the whole story and message! My brain musta been out on another planet! Back then, donno when I first saw it! Wish I did. Could maybe correlate my absence with s'thing else going on!? Went thru a very difficult time a little/lot over a year ago.

Am currently on vacation for 3 weeks. I planned to go to Sedona. Large obstacle prevented this trip. This movie provided clarification that the time is not right. I will visit soon, but will be more prepared. The movie touched me. Scenery is fabulous.

One of the best movies I've seen in a long, long time and that includes in the theater! Such a wonderful surprise with incredible series' of events! My husband and I curled up on the couch to watch this on his laptop---which made me doubly-thankful that I found a great pc-to-tv adapter that will arrive in two days so we can see this again on our big-screen set!

Since we reside in Cottonwood, outside of Sedona, we make several trips a year 'down the road' and it was so much fun to point out areas we recognized in the movie!

Wonderful lessons and the end had me teary...after many chuckles and out-right belly-laughs (oh, my gosh, when Tammy loses her keys...and then gets them of my favorite parts of the movie!) A MUST-SEE!

michaela_rena, posted on August 18, 2013

Great movie. It demonstrates that there are no coincidences and that we must come to terms with our past so that we can be free of Karmic Debt. Some lessons are learned in 1 lifetime.. orther lessons over time. Great storyline.

Beautifily done! made you think the whole time metaphysically. There were no lag scenes. Synchronicity and opening hearts were key for healing! Loved it! Acting was great.

I live in Sedona and this movie is so typically Sedona. It was very well done for the subject matter. I loved it. I wish it had been a bit longer though. Great ending but I would have liked a little more regarding the ending.
