Let‘s All Go to the Beach: Skagen, Denmark (2007)
The breathtaking light at Skagen inspired the painters who gave rise to Denmark’s great impressionist movement. Skagen also attracts lovers of amber, which abounds on the beach, and birdwatchers, who come to observe mass migrations.
The Danish jet-set have made the small port here the Saint Tropez of the North. Most notably, it's the only place in the world where you can put one foot in one sea (the Baltic) and the other foot in another (the North Sea). Generations of Danes continue to flock here, despite concerns that the advancing dune may one day render the beach inaccessible.
