The Vectrix Super Scooter produces zero carbon emissions yet performs like a gas-powered machine. The birth of a female rhino is cause for celebration. Two men drive a truck from Deadhorse, Alaska, to the tip of Argentina fueled only by used cooking oil. The Gobi Desert is eating up valuable arable land and encroaching on cities. Art students present an exhibition of sculptures made entirely of recycled office supplies. Indian authorities rescue more than 1,600 endangered turtles from smugglers. As a Bolivian glacier dwindles, so does the water supply in a nearby city. Apartments in the U.K. are designed to meet the goal of a 60% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
