Open Minds: Surviving Modern Medicine with Harvey Bigelsen (January 2013)

Season 2, Episode 1
Available worldwide

From medical school to private practice and finally legislation, the modern medical industry seems to only have its own interests at heart, no matter the consequences to patients. Homeopathic pioneer Harvey Bigelsen explains how pharmaceutical propaganda is keeping us from curing chronic diseases in this interview with Regina Meredith, originally Webcast January 15, 2013.

As a tireless advocate for homeopathy and biological medicine, Dr. Harvey Bigelsen has courted controversy and endured legal persecution, while helping to change the public perception of healthcare. A true pioneer, Bigelsen co-authored the Arizona Homeopathic Medical Practice Act, a law which gives homeopathy equal legal status with allopathic and osteopathic medicine.

Thanks so much for another great show! Dr. Bigelsen is awesome and so admirable. He has such a nice face as well. His work is impressive and much needed in this world. Definitely a very strong and very interesting person! I agree with his perspective on hospital deaths - in fact, there is a great book by Dr. Leana Wen and Dr. Joshua Kowzarsky called "When Doctor's Don't Listen". They go through the history of the medical industry and agree with Dr. Bigelsen and tell many real patient stories of this nature. Thanks so much Dr. Bigelsen!

I really liked this interview, however, I have a few comments.

First, in my experience young bright students who go into medical schoold do so out of altruism, and compassion. Medical school by all counts is grueling and demanding. It takes real dedication. Making this type of decision to "make money" is a rather simplistic conclusion. There are many other less demanding professions where it is easier to make much more money with less effort and less student loans.

Second, people die in hospitals not from "doctor mistakes". Most medical errors are due to factors beyond a physicians control such as: "saving costs" measures by hospital admninistration, poor staff training, poor safety and upgrade controls, etc. Physcians are not able to control many of these factors. It is not fair to blame MDs for all hospital events and rather simplistic in my opinion.

He cures people of autism, prostate, and breast cancers, etc. with stem cells! This is unbelievable! God Bless you Dr. Bigelsen!
