Conversations with Remarkable People: Tippi Hedren (2000)
Actress Tippi Hedren is truly following her bliss. This episode of “Conversations with Remarkable People” tells the story of how she became an animal activist and created the Shambala Preserve, a safe haven in southern California for rescued wild cats. For Tippi, protecting animals is her passion and her calling. In a wide-ranging conversation, she talks about her Congressional testimony for the Shambala Wild Animal Protection Act of 2000 (she was joined by Bo Derek and Kermit the Frog) and also describes her experiences working with the famous director Alfred Hitchcock. Tippi laughingly names her Shambala Preserve her most wonderful burden, and after watching this interview, you can surely see why.
