Twisting Detox Flow

This short but effective yoga practice with Ashley Turner gives artistic instruction for movement guided by breath to fire up your core with twists. This fiery practice will warm up your abdominals, strengthen your core and spine. Twists fuel the metabolism to kick into high gear by sending heat from your body’s center all throughout the extremities. Enjoy!

Really enjoyed this class! Nice cueing. Would have liked to have seen modifications for the bulk of your audience who are not as flexible. Height under the buttocks in sitting poses. Also William Broad in The Science of Yoga debunked that old myth that we are bring more oxygenated blood into the body. I also question what is the scientific evidence for that old peristalsis chestnut in twisting. Overall, beautiful class.

I practiced outside in my Santa Fe home, lovely start to a beautiful Sunday. Feeling revived.

Did this mid-day to get my blood flowing.
I sit in a cubicle all day and instead of grabbing coffee, I grabbed my laptop an went into an empty space. FEEL AMAZING!

Just returned from a 2 week backpacking trip in the Rockies and my digestive track is out of wack from eating a diet different from my usual. I needed something soft and gentle to get my digestive system feeling normal again. This was exactly what I needed! Of course, I knew Ashley would provide a great routine to meet my needs! Thank you, Ashley! PS the mountain in the background let my mind return to the beautiful Rockies!

Thank you Ashley. In just 20 minutes you helped me feel really good physically and emotionally. Love your knowledge and wisdom coming through in all your yoga practices. Namaste

Fastest 18 minutes ever. It felt wonderful. Thank you!

This could be a great yoga practice but there is no music. (Or if there is, it is very faint and intermittent.) A relaxing sound track helps me get into the right mindset. Otherwise I just feel like I'm doing a series of poses or stretches.

HeidiV@Gaia, posted on April 30, 2015

@CORKDORK66 - This video was made without music, unfortunately we are not able to add any because of the way we received the file. However, I totally agree with you...gotta have my music! I recommend picking your favorite playlist and playing it along with the video, or finding an online radio station that plays massage-like music :). I hope that helps.

watching the video Ashley is saying turn to the right but she physically turns to the left
also says; take the right arm back when it is her left arm and she places her right arm on her knee
and calls it her left arm....?
I want to know which way does the body twist left or right when you first begin
she states cultivating the ascending colon first (right side) so twist to the left??
maybe she is allowing for mirroring??

AshleyTurner, posted on February 3, 2015

Yes! I am mirroring. Typically when I teach to camera….or at the head of a class… I ‘mirror’ the students… so that I turn the same way you are…even if it’s the opposite for me as the teacher. I apologize for any confusion!! xo A

I chose this as an alternate practice for the 21-day challenge - one day late. I allowed busyness and fatigue to prevent me from practising yesterday. This practice would have done wonders for my mental and physical state. I will return to this practice again as I love Ashley's energy and teaching style. Thanks!
