Twisty Hips

Available worldwide

This short, grounding sequence with Clara Roberts-Oss will greatly decrease any tension that is held within the hips, hamstrings, and quadriceps. This twisty practice will help clarify the mind, by opening up the areas of the heart and hips. While twists originate from within the core and abdomen, the resultant effect is experienced everywhere that prana moves throughout the body.

Contraindications: Pregnant women should not do twists. Please use a blanket to support the knees when needed.

a quick warm up for my day. Love the 'feel' of the sun on my shoulders and the 'smell' of the pine trees. Namaste.

Had a hard time 'getting with it' today and needed something to open hips and release low back. This was perfect. Thanks, Clara!

Doing this practice for the Nth time today (it's one of my favorite quick openers!), I was reminded of how incredibly gifted Clara is at offering modifications without making the practitioner feel like they're "not doing as much." She has such a talent for making the modification purely about being good to our bodies, allowing us to set aside any sort of self-competition we may normally feel. Love it.

Clara, you are a gift.

Loved that 1/2 virasana with the other lag anchoring it down. So awesome!

I've been feeling slow, and lazy about exercising, as the onset of winter comes our way, this quick to the point yoga flow has brought me back to life, thanks so much myyogaonline for always being a place I can go to that brings life force back into me and my life. Thanks Clara for being the teacher who brought these gifts through your practice!

@geogo535 - thank YOU for being here and allowing this to be your go-to place for yoga. It helps that we have amazing teachers ;).

Lovely short, yet deep sequence for a good stretch and twist after many sun salutations

Perfect way to start my morning. Combined this practice with the Clara's floor moves practice from Whistler Yoga Conference.

Perfect short video. I only had 15 minutes this morning and I wanted something that gave me a bit of a workout - this video sequence was perfect. Thank you, Clara.

I enjoyed this! Not for people with knee or ankle issues.

This looks like a lovely video for people who are not beginners and who are already flexible. This shouldn't be in the all levels category.

This was great--went on our first big hike of the season yesterday, and this morning my hips and legs were really feeling it. This was just what I needed to loosen up again.

Great short video for a short amount of time (and stiff hips). Best of all, my 6 year old was patient to let me finish it because she was so enthralled with kayakers in the background.

Great sequence. I'd like to have a little more time in each pose though so I slowed it down. You talk rather fast too and some point I just turned down the sound for a bit and paused the video here and there to get some mind space.

joannapianna, posted on November 27, 2012

I love the sequence...and Clara...I love your pants! Where are they from?
