She overtalks the posture she assumes we are achieving. It seems that she tries to explain too many things within the posture and what it is meant to help - and we end up confused especially about where our hips, back, sacrum, neck, arms, thighs are supposed to be.

There was a lot of unnecessary word coloring and fluff, but the instruction is good. This isn't for daily practice, its really an instruction video as doing it over again would be annoying to me. I do have issue about her constant instruction about maintaining curve. I'm been in physio for back issues and have seen specialists and been to other yoga classes and they all say that curve should not be held, your lower back should be in contact with the floor. So it goes against any teaching I've ever had, therefore this video is out for me.

the lower back thing... if you check out some of ashleigh sergeant's practices, you'll find she's an advocate of maintaining (or rather returning) natural curves in the spine. i've also come across this from other teachers too, so not really that unusual.

I enjoy Jeanie's attention to detail and love that shines through her cues.

I found that trying to follow Jeanie's instructions was difficult, making it hard to relax.Too much technical instruction. I prefer Rodney Yee's yoga for back care dvds.

Thanks for sharing. We offer a variety of yoga teaching styles for variety. After all, people like different things. Some styles of yoga are more technical than others, that's for sure. Glad to hear you enjoy Rodney's style. He taught a class to Gaiam employees recently and it was AMAZING. Namaste.

I did this with my daughter (age 17) and she said: This was a great building block in understanding posture and she felt loose and aware of her back in a new way.

Wish it were longer! I think this is an important topic and I know Jeanie could teach more about proper alignment and back care in yoga.
