Insiya discovered yoga at the early age of five in Bombay, India; mimicking her dad doing his daily headstands (sirsasana) and studying yoga at the famous Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute. When she is not traveling around the world to teach Ayurveda workshops or Yoga, Ecology and Surf Retreats, Insiya lives in Vancouver, Canada, where she teaches challenging yet playful vinyasa yoga classes, where you discover a connection to your breath, your body and your spirit. She encourages her students to explore their own insights and openings on the mat, offering suggestions with an emphasis on core- alignment and flow in an all levels format. She is grateful all of the amazing teachers she has studied with over the last ten years including, Eoin Finn, Gioia Irwin, Sarah Powers, Shiva Rea and Ayurveda teacher Robert Svoboda. Community activism and the deep connection we hold for each other and towards our planet continually inspire her and she hopes to share her passion for evolution and life with her students. -- Why shouldn’t yoga + green living go hand in hand with style? Good design should equal good for the planet. Yogue features emerging eco designers, sustainable product reviews, expert wellness tips and inspired ideas to live an eco-chic lifestyle. Yogue was envisioned by Insiya Rasiwala-Finn, a yoga teacher and freelance writer, who currently lives between Vancouver and Ucluelet BC and tries to ride her bicycle whenever possible except during Vancouver’s winter downpours. Namaste.
