Michelle Gelok, RD
Michelle Gelok is a Canadian Registered Dietitian currently based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Prior to her relocation to Abu Dhabi, Michelle graduated as a Registered Dietitian upon completing the Dietetic Internship Program at University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Minor in Family Supports and Community Practice from the Food and Nutrition program at Ryerson University. Michelle is a licensed Registered Dietitian with the Ontario College of Dietitians and member of Dietitians of Canada. Michelle consistently bridges the gap between the science of nutrition and the art of healthy eating by publishing relevant, credible and timely articles, as well as user-friendly recipes. Her work regularly appears in both Canadian and UAE publications including Chatelaine, CBC Online, Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine, Aquarius magazine and The National newspaper, where she was a weekly nutrition columnist. Before becoming a Registered Dietitian, Michelle worked under the guidance of Leslie Beck RD, one of Canada’s leading dietitians for three years at the Medcan Clinic in Toronto. She continues to work extensively with Leslie and has developed over 300 healthy recipes for her last four books, The No-Fail Diet, Foods that Fight Disease, Heart Healthy Foods for Life and Leslie Beck’s Longevity Diet, due out later this year.
