Rachel Voss

Rachel Voss is a Mommy, Yogi, Budding Yoga Teacher, Writer and a self-proclaimed Lover of Love. Originally from Englewood, NJ, she now resides in the Washington, DC metro area after having received a BA in Criminal Justice from Temple University in Philadelphia and a Master’s of Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC. Rachel currently works full-time as a program manager for a trade association, where she is responsible for the oversight of classroom-based professional development training programs. Her career path to date has mainly been in the housing finance industry. Yoga has always been in Rachel’s life. She grew up watching her stepmother practice it and quietly self-practiced at home for many years using DVDs. Her initial interest in Yoga was to find a more “zen-like” way of living. After a car accident took her out of work for two months in the summer of 2012, she began to explore Yoga more, going to different studios and ultimately deciding to enroll in a teacher training program. She completed a 36-hour Level I training with Spiritual Essence Yoga and Wellness Center (SEY) in December 2012 and is now currently enrolled in SEY’s 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher training. SEY is located in Upper Marlboro, MD. Rachel expects to complete the program in August 2013 and is excited about where this journey will take her. Personally, Rachel is on a path of self-awakening and awareness. As she says it, she is learning to embrace herself as a free spirit while she works to peel away layers of self-imposed limitations. Her future goals include teaching Yoga full-time, with a specific focus on underserved communities, senior citizens and veterans, opening wellness centers for women and teens, writing full-time and being the best Mommy she can be.
