Vuslat Eksi

After working in the defense industry for almost a decade, Vuslat Eksi got up and quit one day to be a stay at home mom and to start her own business. Today she wears three hats; as a stay at home mom, owner of a t-shirt brand, “Don’t Belong Here” and a blogger who writes and reviews of mineral made and organic products. The idea for the t-shirt business came to her one day when she realized she did not belong behind her desk at work, she belonged with her family doing what she loved to do; being a mom and writing. The two projects took off from there. With the help of an illustrationist she came up with quirky, fun images for her t-shirts, yoga pants and shorts. Today her brand of t-shirts can be found in boutiques all over the country. The idea for the Organic Analyst grew out of her need to provide safe products for her children to use, especially her girls who loved nail polish! Realizing there was a lack of information out there on mineral made and organic products, she started reviewing products she purchased herself. Vuslat was born in Istanbul, Turkey and raised in New Jersey; she came to the Washington, DC area to attend graduate school. When she met her husband, she settled in the area and currently resides in Great Falls, Virginia with her husband, three kids, two cats and one dog. Her favorite activities include yoga, knitting, writing and re-learning French.  Websites: www.dontbelonghere.com and www.organicanalyst.com Twitter: @dbhusa and @organicanalyst
