This is a story about the crop circle phenomenon, as told by researchers, enthusiasts and those who embrace this mystery. Episode one takes us all the way back to when the first crop circle was reported in the early 1980s. You’ll meet the first person who discovered this phenomenon, together with many other experienced contemporary crop circle researchers.
Every summer, massively spectacular formations appear in crop fields. To date more than 6,000 crop circles, in more than 50 countries, have been documented, and the vast majority of these are reported in the southern parts of England.
What are crop circles? Who is making them? Much debate has focused on this second question, with many theories ranging from all man-made, or weather and wind, to earth energies, or contact from alien beings. But despite all of this, no theory has ever been successfully proven, and so the mystery lives on.
