We shall find something in common between the Caribbean island nation of Cuba, a Communist dictatorship, and the northern European country of Latvia. Both nations have a Communist dictatorship as part of their history. Cuba still remains in the shackles of the Castro brothers’ rule, and the people still wait for their freedom. This dismal fact aside, the fun-loving people of Cuba cherish and carry on in the cultural tradition of their ancestors. Latvia, meanwhile, has been free from the Communist terror of the Soviet Union for the past 20 years, and things are returning to normal.
