People living in Egypt's Nile Delta are getting sick. Everyone is convinced dirty water is the cause. Dr. Nadia El-Awady was born in America but trained as a medical doctor in Egypt. Laying aside her calling and her U.S. citizenship, she's now a UN award-winning investigative journalist at IslamOnLine, working on health and environmental issues. Dr. Nadia El-Awady: "Less than 100 meters upstream from where children play, a crime is being committed that will have a direct impact on their health for the rest of their lives. A truck carrying raw sewage, collected for a minor fee from the local villagers, is dumping its contents directly into the irrigation canal. I want to see what local communities are doing to solve these problems, whether or not they even want to do anything about it." Earth Report joins Dr. El Awady's investigation to find whoever is responsible for threatening the health of those living in Egypt's Nile Delta.
