The local authority has come to the decision to turn down planning permission for the Den Brook Windfarm. Rachel Ruffle responds by taking up an appeal against the decision. Determined to let the council’s decision stand, the local action group takes on a barrister to fight their case.
Meanwhile, local resident Mike Hulme is increasingly disillusioned in his attempts to get the noise data he says Rachel’s company RES promised him. He takes his case to the planning inspector, convinced the noise from the nine 120-metre high turbines will negatively impact the town. When the inspector makes his decision there are scenes of huge joy and severe disappointment.
