Food As Medicine

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that nearly half the population in the United States of America lives with at least one chronic disease. These diseases are the leading cause of health problems such as autoimmune diseases, high cholesterol, heart disease, obesity, poor mental health, and even death. They are also the most costly and preventable of all health conditions in the country. One step we must take to help mitigate these problems changing our food culture.. 'Food As Medicine' follows the growing movement of leveraging better food choices to heal chronic illnesses. From individuals empowering themselves to try a whole foods diet to healthcare groups administering vegetable Rx programs, we can already see the impact food plays on chronic conditions. The health benefits to altering our society’s relationship with food are enormous. Join filmmakers on a journey of food, wellness, and hope!
