The Healthy Brain with Dr. Ilene Naomi Rusk

Did you know Alzheimer’s can begin decades before symptoms appear? The good news is that you can preserve and improve your high-level thinking skills by taking charge of your brain health. But time is of the essence. Dr. Ilene Naomi Rusk, an internationally recognized neurobehavioral expert, outlines a variety of steps you can take to stave off cognitive decline. She stresses the need to identify root causes and risk factors, such as poor diet or even loneliness. Although treatments always need to be individualized, in all cases brain exercise is very important for a healthy brain.

Dr. Ilene Naomi Rusk is Co-Director of the Healthy Brain Program and is coordinator of the Rehabilitation and trauma treatment programs. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham in England and has authored numerous papers in the areas of psychology, neuropharmacology and neuroscience in areas as diverse as cerebral palsy, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and the effects of neurotransmitters on behavior.
