We join artist Michael Belmore along the shore of Lake Superior. We view some of his past works and he explains the folklore, history, and materials that go into his works. People have expressed that they see different things in his work, yet he feels there is always a sense of loneliness and grief in the pieces.
As he is working on a metal piece, on the beach, he explains the intention and process of his current workings. He has a strong connection to this land as he grew up here and he tries to incorporate that connection into the process as well as the pieces. His finished piece is on display at a local gallery, and he leaves us with some parting words on nature, perfection and balance.
