Some of the oldest Buddhist statues stood deep in the heart of war torn Afghanistan. These ancient effigies stood, benevolently over travelers traversing the Silk Road through the Bamiyan Valley. However, as the ages passed, powers and religions changed as war and devastation ravaged the lands and the people.
David Adams makes a brazen trek across Afghanistan in search of these colossal idols of a lost era. He, and his film crew, must learn and adhere to laws and rules that are often frustration.
