Mireille Nègre: A Consecrated Dancer

201354 mins

Art, beauty and spirituality come together in a unique and distinctive fashion in the life of Mireille Nègre. A rising star in the world of ballet, Mireille, who was about to be nominated Etoile of the Opéra in Paris by Serge Lifar, chose instead to become a nun and remain in a cloister for ten years.

When Mireille discovered she could take vows as a “Consecrated Virgin” and thereby be out in the world while still keeping her dedication to God, she left the cloister and founded her own school of dance in Paris.
