Mozambique, Prevention the First Priority

In the spring of 2000, Mozambique was hit by flooding: eight hundred people died and millions became homeless. Since then the country, still exposed to typhoons and drought, heals its wounds.

Natural disasters leave traces: coastal erosion, the ocean advancing over land and islands disappearing. People migrate to survive, and realize that they must react quickly to cope with weather threats and to protect their natural habitat.
