Paracelsus was a sixteenth-century Swiss German Renaissance physician, botanist, alchemist, astrologer and general occultist. He founded the discipline of toxicology. He specialized in finding the healing qualities in plants, believing that the processes in nature paralleled those in the human body. He also stated that love was the first principle in healing.
In many ways, he was a pioneer in what we today would call holistic or integrative medicine. In this documentary, today’s medical practitioners describe ways in which they incorporate Paracelsus’s principles in their modern treatments.
