Yogacharya B. K. S. Iyengar: Uniting Through Yoga

In the buildup to the celebrations to commemorate Yoga Guru B. K S. Iyengar's birth centenary on December 14, 2018, the question asked was how do individual practitioners the world over perceive the man and the art form of Iyengar Yoga? Few had spent years with him, some might have had just a few glimpses, and many would have been transformed by merely following the path he'd laid out.

The idea conceived was to create a documentary film crowdsourced from practitioners of Iyengar Yoga from all over the world who would be given a chance to record their impressions of the impact that Guruji and Iyengar Yoga have had on their lives, with the objective of gleaning different facets of the man and to weave a narrative to demystify him for future generations.

After collecting more than 100 hours of crowdsourced and archival material from more than 500 participants, including the Iyengar family and his oldest living students, the 74-minute tribute documentary attempts to both define a legacy and show how all practitioners are connected in this journey together.
