Open Minds: Return of the Divine Sophia with Tricia McCannon (March 2016)

Season 6, Episode 13
Available worldwide

Today, many organized religions are struggling as new religious thoughts emerge. Many of these new religions are focused upon the divine feminine, which Tricia McCannon calls, the return of the divine Sophia. This is not a call to abandon patriarchy in favor of matriarchy. Rather it is calling for both genders to come into balance and bring forward their own expressions of the divine feminine and masculine. This interview with Regina Meredith was originally webcast March 10, 2016.

Tricia McCannon is a renowned clairvoyant, historian, author, and teacher who has traveled the world in search of answers to the greatest Mysteries of the Ages. Known as the Mysteries Expert, she is the author of many DVDs, CD, online classes and best selling books. Her work is focused on the great spiritual mysteries, awakening christ consciousness, and global healing.

wow, what a quick hour of time! so filled with so many details, so many thought provoking insights! loved it.... and note to self: check out Tricia McCannon's Books .....
great interview... if only more time could have permitted Tricia to carry on sharing everything she has researched, some of the lesser known information was new to me in getting to hear told in a way that painted such a clear picture..... may have heard it, know of it, but to hear someone telling the story in an order of completeness...ahhhh! yep, perhaps reading the books I can continue this adventure once again! thank you.... thoroughly enjoyed it!

amazing how Regina's voice shifted at the end ... you can feel the deep mutual grace & gratitude between these two "goddesses" ... thank you for embodying and sharing divine female energy

Very much enjoyed listening to this interview! I think Tricia does a great job of condensing a lot of material and relating it to now. As always, Regina, you navigate/comment/question your guest through a wonderful presentation of some very complex material.

Just a comment: the matriarchial societies had their deceptions as well. Carl Calleman indicates that as the world energy changes from feminine to masculine or masculine to feminine -- the presiding regime has a hard time letting go . . . . Some of this is discussed in the fictional/legend-based The Mabinogeon Tetrology by Evangeline Walton (easy read). Some of the story takes place in a cross-over time as the patriarchal civilization rends its way westward. Somehow the people had lost/or didn't understand men's role in how babies came to me. The priestesses hid this knowledge from the population at large and frowned upon marriage, which they saw as a threat to their control. For most intents and purposes, men and women's roles were reversed -- and men were essentially second class citizens. One might imagine what kind of payback this fostered in the men when the patriarchial civilizations began to take hold.

Here's hoping we get it right this time! and move forward together :)

OMG, what a fabulous interview Regina - thank you so much for bringing this interesting lady to Gai. I so want to meet her! How is she so knowledgable? When you listen to her tell the story of the feminine energy and how amazing it is, it isn't at all surprising that the lengths aspects of the male energy had to go through to suppress it, have been and still are so extreme. Good grief I have to get her book. I also have to agree with her final remarks about you. Great work, love Gai - thank you.

Tricia is such a credit to humanity! Her insights and gentle, compassionate wisdom is inspiring and refreshing. I absolutely LOVE the heart-centered moment of connection at the tail-end of the interview where both women "mirror" the greatest esteem for one another. What a moving moment to witness between Regina and Tricia!

Thank you for this lovely interview. I personally find this Topic of huge importance today in our world. I am a man and i am constantly striving to find deeper divine feminine within myself and it has changes my life for the better, it has also made me realize how imbalanced i are in masculine and feminine energy.

Men really needs to take this to heart and to go deep within themselves to find the godess. The Kundalini is a force of divine feminine and i highly suggest you start working with it, it is beyond words how amazing the kundalini is. dont fall into the fear and all the negative about this divine feminine force that is waiting to be activated within you.

Much love and light to all.

I am touched that so many of you have commented on the conversation between Tricia and myself. It shows me how hungry you are to identify with the divine feminine within all of us. I will be meeting with Barbara Hand Clow again soon and this knowledge can guide our conversations as well. Meanwhile, I will see about bringing Tricia back on with me! Again thank you all for your kind and supportive comments!

to watch and the other 2 of this trilogy. A really amazing & poignant trio made in '89-90 - years I remember in this movement. All women posting here will be gratified to watch them. It was heartwarming to discover myself that the priest in the movies is still active in the Gaia movement today. If you want to know more - take a couple hours to see just what a legacy the goddesses of today have for inspiration to press onward and upward.

Yin and Yang, positive and negative, masculine and feminine, energy is created between living beings. Healing can be done, crops can be grown, the animals and plant life can be nurtured. In a man's world, there's just lots of destruction.

I hope that Regina can invite Tricia McCannon on the show for another interview to explore more of the history of the suppression of the divine feminine and masculine. This was a truly a revelatory hour that connected my field with the field of the suffering and triumph of my divine sisters, mothers and daughters. Thank you.

Regina's energy, commitment and spirit imbues and guides her conversations beyond anyone's expectations. She is present for every word with support and leverage and knowledge of the topic. It must be amazing to be interviewed by her because she not only loves what you are saying but respects the topic and contributes valid information to qualify its relevance. Tricia McCannon is like a spirit twin to Regina, she has the gifts of intelligence, communication and knowledge. They share a greater contribution by demonstrating the embodiment of the divine feminine in action. I look up to these women as role models, how to be wise and generous, heartfelt and seriously grounded!

Thank you for your teachings, my most humble gratitude,

...for your observations. Its simply about love - universal love. When I sit with someone to have a conversation, I close my eyes and go into a space of connection with all of our guiding forces and wait until I feel the current of love to guide the conversation. Of course this part is edited out of the program as it looks a little goofy with my eyes closed, rolled up and waiting ;-) I very much appreciate your noticing this nuance.

Love you both!

This was just a wonderful plethera of ancient wisdom, woven on the behalf of the Divine Feminine! It is great to put together this kind of knowledge, on these ancient civilizations, in this way. A kind of balance to what we have been gifted from the research of our masculine team…i.e.Graham, David , Michael ect. Like the book "The Mists of Avalon" which is the women's perspective of the Arthurian tale of Camelot.

I thoroughly enjoyed Tricia's first interview with you Regina, and was so pleasantly surprised to see her on again. She is a lovely example of balance and wisdom exemplifying what she is speaking about. I too was , like the other viewers, very touched by the Divine Feminine interaction between the both of you.

Which brings up an aspect of a Divine Feminine issue, that I think needs to have a bit of a light shone on it, and that is the balance between women and their relationships with each other. I myself have experienced struggles with the Mother/Daughter thing, then I have witnessed competitive, jealous, catty, even shunning other women in church, or in career arenas….Lets talk about that for a minute. How can we create and educate in these inflamed areas. Again usually generated, as you mentioned, from competing in a patriarchal society.

One thought...Jamie Sams a wise teacher in the native american tradition, put together "Animal Cards" tarot with David Carson. "The Otter Card" in this deck starts off the conversation speaking to balanced female energy, "a side of ourselves that creates a space for others to enter our lives without preconceptions or suspicions." Even suggesting that long ago in tribal law, if a woman were widowed, her sister would offer her own husband to the widow as a lover to keep her from drying up and not using her creative urges. She goes on to say that envy, or the fear of being replaced, has no space in the balanced understanding of sharing goodness. Woman energy without games or control is a beautiful experience.

One last thing, to address Cathy's comment below; which asks the question would being gay be unbalanced. In the book "Grandmother Time" by Z Budapest she features a Goddess for every month of the year. The Goddess for May is Artemis who has a private message of sexuality, she is a lover of women and her beloved "Callisto" is a mid-wife. Artemis talking says "but this band of women have few babes themselves acting as sort of the natural birth control for humanity." It seems that this could be considered a balancing function?

However the main point I wanted to make is that I would love to see more movement on healing the Women to Women Relationship dynamic. It's like saying you have to love yourself first before you can love and heal the world.

Another great show Regina! Thank you for your Divine Feminine Example! LOL

cathy_cockey, posted on March 16, 2016

Thanks for that piece of information about Artemis! I still wonder if there's not another agenda to it all since it seems to be growing in our society. I heard recently that the problems with our food supply (which are intentional) may be adding to the disruption of our hormones, leading to more gender confusion. If that is so, this is an intentional disruption in that energy flow. Yet it's extremely difficult to discuss this topic without offending anyone or coming across as homophobic... also intentional maybe? What better way to influence an outcome by making it taboo to talk about.

It is my understanding that when a male Spiritual Star manifests himselves on earth, there is a female Spiritual Star that embodies what was taught by the man. Examples include Mary Magdalene and Jesus, Fatima and Mohammad. When a female Spiritual Star manifests herself on earth, there is a male Spiritual Star who embodies what was taught by the woman, for example White Buffalo Calf Woman and the brave who recognized who she was.

The interview isn't finished yet. It's only just begun but I am so thrilled to hear this interview! I have long been missing conversations about women's spirituality. The Goddess, by whatever name you know, is so important to women! I love her, and she never lets me down. This is an important subject.

I really enjoyed this interview! I'd love to see more shows relating different interpretations of the bible, both old and new testaments. How sweet at the end too, where Tricia choked up expressing her admiration for Regina.

In talking about the necessity of balancing the masculine and feminine, I'm wondering where the conversation of homosexuality comes in. Is the growing LGBT movement an attempt to subvert this balance of energy on our planet? This is SUCH a taboo subject, one that the PC police crucify those who dare to mention it. But I am curious! I understand love is love and transcends the physical. But on a practical level, these unions cannot create life, and is this a situation of unbalanced energy?

KATHLEENW, posted on March 10, 2016

I find it ironic that the one typo in the opening sentences is a gender pro-noun mistake in this sentence. "He work is focused on the great spiritual mysteries, awakening christ consciousness, and global healing"

Thanks for writing! We will correct that now. :)
