Take Me Home (2011)

Only available in United States

Thom isn’t having a good day. With no job and no place to sleep, Thom turns to his last resort: driving his illegal taxicab around the streets of New York.

Fortunately for him, Claire isn’t having a good day, either. After discovering her husband cheating and then learning that her estranged father is dying, Claire lands in Thom’s cab. With both their lives in ruins, Thom and Claire agree to drive to California.

With detours through the mountains, deserts and hometowns, Thom and Claire must choose between the lives they’ve left behind and the possibilities glimpsed in their journey together.

Knowing the wonders of a road trip I totally loved this film! Chance meetings happen everyday, yet do we see their meaning or is life so busy that we pass them by? This film inspired me to know that it may still happen for me. Bad relationships which do not bring us happiness should be left behind so that doors of joy may open. I am so grateful I watched this wonderful film. Nothing is coincidential now is it?

There isn't much to complain about in this witty and seductive tale of a woman on the run from her husband with a photo-journalist turned cabbie, who picks her up and takes her from New York to California via his taxi. Their joint humor is crazy , zany, and unpredictable. When the two get to California, they split again, only to re-find each other at the very end. Along the way, they process their feelings a bit with each other, make light of her misery in her marriage, and find a better plan for his talent as a writer and photographer. What is going on behind the scenes is a minor shift in consciousness, a subtle confusion that leads them back to their hearts, and a gentle healing around needing to leave the everyday world of crass commerce and conventional wisdom behind them. Perhaps forever!

the best movie I have ever watched on Gaiamtv.com
Beautifully filmed, authentic actors, and well chosen scenery.
A movie that makes me cry, laugh (a lot) and feel deeply.
Why oh why can't we have more movies like this on tv?

Sometimes circumstances that are beyond our contol cause our lives to unravel in unpredictable ways. The trick is, do we stand by and watch as helpless victims, fight the tide, or run?

The movie--Take Me Home, can inspire anyone that is brave enough to step outside of their spiraling life. Why stay stuck in a bad situation? Doing nothing is never easy. Take a chance, glimpse the many possibilties.

It wonderful to see how a road trip can change peoples lives. I love road trips myself and find that you learn something every mile. You also appreciate what a wonderful country the USA is.

Well stated. The road has so much to offer. I loved the film.

This movie is great for anyone who feels like they are "stuck". Life is amazing and way too short to stay in a place that doesn't match the good in you. Be brave and take a chance on what could be. Find your happiness....find your beautiful!
