Summary
The Production Manager is the operational backbone of Gaia’s original content production. This role owns the logistics, scheduling and budgets that take every series from development through final delivery, working directly with producers to define the scope of each production and keep it on schedule and on budget.
Primary responsibilities include booking all crews for studio and remote shoots, building and maintaining preproduction and production calendars for all series, and creating and monitoring series budgets as production progresses. The Production Manager coordinates with the Head of Post on postproduction calendars so the full pipeline stays aligned, while the post team remains responsible for its own schedule and budget.
This role also project manages set construction, which includes sourcing and hiring designers, scheduling and monitoring the physical build of the set, and managing approvals from producers and executives.
The Production Manager is responsible for assigning, updating and maintaining KeyedIn, our internal tracking program for time spent on projects, and manages financial processing for production, including processing and approving invoices, maintaining the production credit card, and meeting with accounting on capitalization of assets.
At Gaia, soft skills are key to success. We seek candidates with strong interpersonal abilities – effective communication, teamwork, prioritization, and problem solving – who can adapt to change, manage conflicts with empathy, and collaborate well with diverse teams. While technical skills matter, we highly value those who build positive relationships, contribute to a supportive culture, and approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. If this sounds like you, you’ll thrive in our dynamic environment.
