Clara Roberts-Oss

For Clara Roberts-Oss, movement has always been sacred. After spending much of her life as a dancer, she took her first Vinyasa class in 2000 at Jivamukti yoga Center and discovered a feeling of home.

As she moved through the flowing postures seamlessly with an emphasis on breath-body connection, Clara realized that yoga gave her something that dance could not - an emphasis on the internal journey.

Clara Roberts-Oss received her 200 hour Vinyasa Certification with Lauren Hanna at Sonic yoga NYC in 2003. Shortly thereafter, she met Shiva Rea and again felt at home. Shiva, too, understood the idea of fluidity and gave words to the movement that Clara had been doing her entire life. Since then, Clara has been studying under and assisting Shiva.

For Clara Roberts-Oss, movement is the ultimate form of communication with the Divine. She believes the body yearns to move like water and when it does, it hums with excitement.

"I thank all my teachers for sharing their passion of this practice with me: David Life for opening my heart, Stacey Brass for her minute cues that have changed me life, Uma for opening my voice, Dana Flynn for throwing out all the rules and inspiring me to do the same, Constantine Darling for showing me another way, and Paul Ortega for reminding me we are ALL the cosmic dancer."

I come back to Clara repeatedly for her elegant and intuitive way. A yogini now for 16 years, I never fail to learn from her and take my practice deeper. I've experienced many teachers, hatha, ashtanga, flow, hot, Bikram and there is no one like Clara. My body feels stronger, at peace and 'well-moved' when I vinyasa with her. Thank you Clara for your devotion and willingness to share your beautiful, healing sequences and wonderful spirit.

I simply love her spirit and the way she teaches each practice. I'm literally addicted to her yoga classes, few others really open my mind and awaken my spirit. Rodney Yee would follow but her's is easier to follow in many ways, although he's really great. I love Faith Hunter as well but no one tops Clara!!! Thank you and much gratitude.

I am new to Yoga...have been practicing for about 2 months now. I gravitate to your videos frequently. I agree w/ a previous comment that you get right to the point and provide many options. Your sessions are interesting, fun, and keep me coming back. Thank you!

I just love your no nonsense yoga practices! I don't like alot of jabbering in the beginning of any exercise video and you just get in and started. I never feel any pressure to push myself beyond my limits, but always can with you. At 48, I have never looked better or so I hear from others and feel like I can accomplish any manual labor throughout my day! So Thankful for Clara!

Clara is my favorite teacher!! I love her practice, the way she explains every pose, how she talks. She's just an amazing teacher.

Clara! I used to take your classes at Flow Yoga in downtown Vancouver (you even used to do some classes at the Lululemon on Robson) and I was doing one of your classes online and I thought...'hey I recognize this voice' when I looked closer I was delighted to find out that I had met you in real life! I moved to Belgium, and am not fluent in French or Dutch, so doing these classes is fantastic- made even more fantastic because your classes are stupendous!
    Keep up that good juju.
