Vinyasa Flow Yoga 1 - Uniting Movement and Breath

Seane Corn

This Vinyasa Flow yoga video takes dynamic yoga to a deeper level by integrating rhythmic breathing
with conscious movement. As in all physical yoga, you will increase strength and
flexibility — and by uniting body and breath, you’ll learn to move from moment to
moment with absolute awareness. The practice becomes a meditation in action, and
can open you to experience the power of Spirit, the connection between us all.

Seane Corn’s passionate interpretation of this ancient, flowing style of yoga has made
her one of the Nation’s most sought-after instructors. In her first-ever Vinyasa yoga video you’ll experience a stunningly intimate program that will leave you feeling you’ve
just left a one-on-one yoga lesson — with one of the most compelling and inspiring
 teachers of our time.

For anyone who wants more from yoga than its physical rewards, this is a practice to
strengthen the power of your mind and heart as much as your body — yoga to validate
and celebrate the human experience and reconnect you to your personal sense of Spirit.

Wonderful instruction everything I would ever imagine to find out at the beginning of my yoga journey . Beautiful. Thank You so much Sean for sharing your practice.

Dear Seane, this section was one of the loveliest, most beautiful ways I have viewed Yoga and breath, I am so pleased I joined you, thank you

Seane's series has taken my life practice to deeper levels and helped increase connection with self and universe! I had practiced with her videos for many years and the inner and outer world become more and more open and free. Would love to see her teach Yoga to help with specific health issues like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Menopause, MS, Myasthenia Gravis, Lupus, etc. My body's limitations have grown over the years and would help to have a gentler practice. Her style of integrating concepts in a way that unites body, breath and connection with respect for what our bodies are telling us would help greatly to those of us who need increased mindfulness into the limitations imposed by these ailments.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for bringing me to the soul of yoga, helping me to relinquish my past versions of my mat self and find beginners mind, re-engaging with truth, these words at the beginning and the end were profound influences on the surrender, the tender nature of meeting old asana friends with new awareness. Namaste.

This is the only Yoga DVD I own. For years I did this often because there's a lot of good helpful input. I still return to it when I need a reminder of the basics or the invigoration of Ms. Corn's lovely teaching style!

Beautiful guidance as I reinvigorated my practice with breath and proper alignment. Vinyasa Yoga, by the quick flow can subject one to not use proper form in an effort to get to the pose quickly. Seane reminds us that proper form is critical over speed.

Thank you Seane for your amazing guidance in this practice. It has allowed me to bring more awareness of my breath into the postures. I shall be revisiting this again.

beautiful fundemental practice. much needed. no matter what level you are in, i truly believe it is alway important to come back to the basics. this practice was refreshing and helped me to feel the poses in a new way. thank you

This felt less like a "workout" and more like a workshop on proper alignment and form. I highly recommend it for beginners, or people like me who practice off and on at home but haven't been face to face with an instructor in a long time and need some form tweaks. I felt new things in all of the poses. She uses two blocks frequently during the practice, and while you could probably get by without them, I think they are important for the focus on finding your best form for each pose.

Very clear instructions...wonderful spirit. Thanks!

Whereas in many yoga classes in which I've found myself moving as rapidly as possible to keep pace with the instructor, here the pace was spot on for me. I was able to breathe into the poses, the very thing that yoga is about! If that weren't enough, Seane's guide through what I'll call the "spirit of yoga," something I sometimes forget, was the perfect thing for allowing me to come away from the practice feeling centered, in touch, and grateful. Thank you Seanne!

This practice moves a bit slow in places but only because of the thoughtful attention to posture and alignment. I appreciate the thorough instruction as I prefer to know how to practice and get the most efficient and effective session as possible. I'm thankful for Seane framing the practice in gratitude from the start and finishing it off with the same.

What a beautiful journey this tape offers. I love that she brought in the basics yet allowing it to be full and and real.
Thank you!

I wanted to start a yoga practice to use in conjunction with healthy for wait loss. Being 54 and post chemo, I needed a slower pace. This one fit my breath flow perfectly. It was a little too long for me, but that gives me something to grow into. Her instructions were exceptionally helpful. I learned new things about exploring poses that I had already learned in other beginner yoga videos. Highly recommend!

I have been out of my 'active poses' yoga practice for four months, due to a car accident. (I recommend Rodney Yee's Back care video as well by the way.)
I also like Patrricia Walden's practice for beginners as an entry or rentry point, but Seane Corne's video is highly precise as to correct posture, correct alignment, and from where in the body you should initiate movement. I also am very very appreciative of her incorporation of the spiritual aspect of yoga in such an open, frank, and inclusive way. It moved me.
A very beginner may find there is too much to take in at one time...pause and breathe. Or only do 20 min at a time until you feel up to the entire video. Yoga is a slow journey, not a fast flight. Slow down and be kind to yourself. Use props! If you dont want to buy blocks, rubber band a large book closed and start there.

This a great video for beginners who want to slowly move through an introduction vinyasa. Additionally, as someone who has been practicing almost two years, I appreciated the focus on alignment and reminder of how my body should be moving through some of the fundamental poses.

Very disappointed with the video quality. Many parts seem to play at a higher speed or skip. I am personally familiar with this practice so I know what the instructions are and the pace, but I would be very hesitant to recommend it to someone else who would be trying it for the first time. Awesome practice, horrible video quality.

I just finished my first practice with Seane Corn and I am impressed. Her instruction for form is outstanding. I learned a lot of tips to improve my postures. Very easy to follow. Wonderful. Loved the ending. Felt ready to take on the day with positivity and grace. I'll be looking for more from Sean Corne.

Seane Corn's "Uniting Movement and Breath", is absolutely wonderful! She does such an incredible job of teaching in this video - you are conscious of your alignment and understanding more of each pose. In addition to the physical teaching, she adds the breath and spiritual aspect of yoga, for a well rounded practice. Her approach is strong, yet peaceful; confident, yet humble. Marks of an incredible teacher! I can't wait to try her other videos!! Thank you, Giam, and Seane!!

Kellyjo, posted: Sean Corn's Vinyasa Flow is amazing. After doing her video I realized I was doing yoga poses wrong. The instruction is excellent! I highly recommended this video for anyone starting yoga. The video is a great way to program you body to realign your muscles and joints. I had such a realization that my body parts were all moving in different directions and not connected. Thanks Sean, love your patience and the way you instruct.

Seane Corn's Vinyasa Flow has excellent verbal cues and instructions for correct body alignment. What NOT to do is as - or more - important as what TO do in order to prevent injury to your knees and back. I highly recommend this DVD.

pokadot19, posted on February 28, 2012

This was my first yoga session getting back into it after more than a year. Overall, I really liked this, but some parts of it she moves too quickly for a newbie or someone getting back into it to follow. (another thing I think a lot of these videos should try is to have someone who is a little newer or less flexible demonstrate poses, it's hard to know exactly what I'm attempting to do because the instructor can always do them perfectly)

gaiamvip1, posted on January 15, 2012

I may have a problem on my end! I did not have any audio talking me through the poses or letting me know the next pose. I prefer to practice with the instructor telling you the poses/flow vs just background music.

MichalL@Gaia, posted on January 19, 2012

The 'Uniting movement and breath' segment of this dvd does have instructions (and it's here on this page...). The 'Sound of Breath' one doesn't - so you can choose!
