In the second episode of Andrea Marcum's Close to Om series she leverages the postures to go deeper. We see that in our asana, as in life, obstacles can be opportunities, practice makes progress and that we must learn to bend and become flexible in order to move towards liberation. We transcend the constraints of competition and comparison. Shifting from the perception of contest to a living laboratory allows us to learn, grow, create and thrive. We discover that seeming limitations can be our greatest teacher and we transform negativity into positive action (pratipaksha bhavanam).

Hi Andrea! Thank you for this sweet practice. Humbled as mentioned from the AWAKENING the TRANSFORM gave me an opportunity to give my body credit for it's trustworthiness. The pace is perfect and the breath easily ajusts to it throughout the flow. I have been sitting in an armchair all morning studying and my back and chest sends their love!

Hi Andrea,
I took your advice and spent time with this great moderate practice. It really made my body feel warm and good AND helped the chatter in my head to slow down. I love the idea of transformation. I sometimes teach a teen and tween class and hope to use transform next week to inspire the girls to use their beautiful vitality to work towards finding their joy through positive physical and emotional outlets . I currently don't have much time for my own practice with the new baby . Weekends are better and I can often find time early for a solid practice before heading out to kids sports/activities and I relish each and every moment.

Eka Pada Galavasana is not a moderate pose, in my opinion, nor are some of the other long holds. That said, this is a wonderful Intermediate practice that starts out in a wildly creative way.
