Conversations with God (2007)

Only available in Canada, United States

Based on Neale Donald Walsch’s best-selling books, Conversations with God chronicles the dramatic true story of a struggling man turned homeless who unexpectedly becomes a spiritual messenger. After breaking his neck in a car accident, Walsch loses his job, his home, and is reduced to begging coins from strangers in the streets.

Struggling to get back on his feet, he finds work and a place to live, but life, for him, is still unbearably hard. In the wee hours of the morning, overcome with anger and bitterness, Walsch writes an angry letter to God, demanding answers to his questions. To his eternal astonishment, he receives an answer.

I just joined Gaia and experience how much of the content cannot be seen by me here in South Africa? This you should inform people about before they join. I just paid for a full year?

Me and my husband watched this together and it resonated with both of us to the core. We highly recommend this film as its powerful messages will resonate with others who are open to having a conversation with God. To Thank you for posting this film. We hope you provide more movies like this please :) :)

Amazing movie, a reminder that God is always there, and that we are one. The ilusion of separation is only a trap that we createas an excuse.

markdesign14, posted on April 14, 2016

Its messed up, because that's exactly how we treat the homeless. As though they're nothing. When all the while, they are us. Human, filled with feelings, dreams, and struggle to live up to a foolish illusion of material elitism. So that we can be "apart of" the "status quo".

--33 minutes into the film. I almost cried...
Why do we treat each other the way that we do?
Are we quiet monsters?
Why are we torn from the world?

supernatural9th, posted on September 12, 2016

It is very disgusting how we treat homeless people when some of us are only a half a paycheck away from finding ourselves in the same situation. I almost burst into tears during parts of the movie that showed Neale's homelessness. Everyone deserves dignity and respect. When they are in such a desperate situation, those of us who have the means should ecstatically give them a hand up, not a hand out.

When this book first book came out, I was asked to review it for Awareness Magazine. I lived in Cambria, CA at the time, and could feel magic all around me. Here I am decades later, with many years and much pain later... no longer in my beautiful Cambria... no longer in my former life, but now in a quiet life in beautiful Sedona. Then I saw the book had been made into this film. For many weeks I avoided watching it, no energy to allow emotions to creep back into my 'waning years'. Now I am sitting here, stunned at the beauty of this film, of the events around the creation of this series, and for the first time in many years... hope lit a small flame within me. Thank you seems too small an accolade...

Thank you for having this film as one of the offerings. I love Gaiam...

I was led to these books through my N.A. sponsor back in 1995. I heard him mention the name to another one of his sponsees. When I returned home and entered the bathroom there it was sitting on the sink. I flipped it over and read the back cover..." I have heard the crying of your soul...". I wept for a long time. That was not the end of my darkness, it lasted another 20 years. By chance I happened to sign up for Gaiam once again looking for answers and I see this movie. I am too tired to watch the whole thing right now but I have been scrolling through the other posts on here and that same feeling welled up inside me. It is beautiful to see how many others have found this material. My feelings of loneliness are vanishing by degrees. Thank you all.

Incredible journey about like and the soul. 100x better than movie. Takes a while but well worth it.

All three books of "Conversations with God" have made the New York Times Bestseller list, the original Conversations with God book occupying that list for over two and half years. Well worth your time.

One of the finest movies that you can find. I saw it several years ago but after going through my spiritual evolution I really understood the deepest love that movie (n) has to offer. There is no other feeling but love, it is different shades of love that we perceive on the screen but movie is only completed once you have all the shades but then you watch it and realize that beauty and depth could not be attained without dark and light shades.

It is good and on point. I particularly liked the answer for the mother of the adopted son. Once, I prayed for patience and seemed like things were worse and then a local minister said to me, "How do you get patience?" I quit praying for it that day and yes things got better. I also have many turns in my life and I appreciated how he responded to the attack. No one can change where they have been and you wouldn't be who you are today without those experiences. Thank you gaiam for bringing this movie here.

I remember when his book came out and was thinking of it recently. I have been having my own conversations with Sophia, waking up at 4:30 am to write. Thank you, Gaiam, you are a light in my life.

Some 15 to 16 years ago I came across this book followed by all the others Neal wrote.
This book changed my life and inspired me to inspire those around me, especially my husband to be.
Seeing the movie brings back all those fond memories and reminds me to get back on track and fulfill my passion in bringing Abundance in all Good Things to all those around me. It is just what I needed to see and hear again, for I started to doubt myself and my capacity of making dreams come true where I had the privilege to experience it first hand 15 years ago. Please do go on in sharing for once in a while we all need this reminder and booster to move on and dream our dream in its greatest form! Thank you Neal and thank you GIAM! Ultimately, THANK YOU GOD!

LINDAB8, posted on August 15, 2014

I'm puzzled why I was never interested in watching this movie. My husband and I bought all of Neale's books and 'devoured' them in just a few weeks before he died in 2008. Tonight I watched it on GAIAM TV. I was thinking it might be 'over the top' preachy. Instead, it is TOP quality in every aspect. I even posted the official trailer on my Facebook and encouraged my family and extended family to watch it as well. Thanks to all who participated in bringing us this gem.

OUr circumstances don't dictate our relationship with GOD. This film really told the truth. None of us know the whole picture. Sometimes the worst thing in our life turns out to be a blessing in the end. I loved the idea that the words just came to him and all GOD wanted was for him to write them down.

Last week my oncologist advised me to " live my life". When I got home, I logged on to Gaiam TV and the first thing that caught my attention was Conversations With God. This was no coincidence. After watching the film I feel so much stronger and able to heed my oncologist's advice. Thank you Gaiam for being a part of the message.

Thank you so much for such a thought provoking uplifting movie. ...Where does one look for their passion if they do not feel for one?

jennyt_12, posted on June 12, 2014

We all have one... a purpose and a journey to undertake in the world. Finding out why we were born and why we are here is about asking the questions and setting that intention to know, there have always been signals, knock on our soul doors but not many answer their calling. trust that you are already on the right path because you began to question it, was you become fully present and conscious you will receive answers when you are ready. Just have faith and trust that it has always been there, what you seek is seeking you...
