Wisdom Warriors: Backbends

Available worldwide

In this Wisdom Warriors series, Desiree Rumbaugh explores Karuna, the concept of compassion in Buddhism, and spiritual maturity. This class explores a variety of heart openers, leading up to a deep backbend in Full Wheel Pose. This class is ideal for the fit over 50's age group, or anyone looking for a challenging class.

Contraindications: Check with a doctor before performing deep backbends. This class contains deep backbends that should be performed mindfully and only by those that have a regular, pre-established backbending practice. This class is considered an intermediate/advanced level for those aged 50+, and moderate/intermediate for those under 50.

Really enjoyed it thank you. Will be better if the instructor attempts not to talk all the time. Nothing wrong with a few silent pauses. Added this to my favorites.

@akhalsa Hello! I have made a note of your request and will definitely weave in some instruction concerning wrist health and yoga in my upcoming programs. Thank you for the constructive feedback! Stay tuned.

Desiree, I love your classes; I learn so much that goes into everything else I do and pass along to friends.... One thing I need help with that isn't covered often ... Wrists. -I simply cant do anything without a great deal of pain that lasts for weeks or months. ... it seems I have flat hands and can not press into the finger pads enough to lift the carpel area .. dont know why.. but I know many more people have wrist issues as well. Please can you add wrist wisdom to your instruction in the future. Thanks

Loved this. Pretty laid back but very informative. I felt really good getting into the backbend by the end!

a full backbend is my most i hate it pose" ... but I know it will become a favorite pose as I keep working with it.
This is a wonderful practice, I hope I do it at least every other day.

Wonderful!...first time since I was a child I can back bend...I now remember the childlike quality and freedom of this pose which has been made apparent and will now stay with me...thank you, Desiree.

Thank-you!! I've never gone that far into the full wheel pose before - it felt lovely!! I really appreciate how you constantly brought my awareness back to just one part of the body at a time... :)
