A leader in the movements for peace, environmental sustainability, economic equality and human rights, Riane Eisler, JD is the President of the Center for Partnership Studies. Internationally renowned as a social scientist, evolutionary theorist and cultural historian, Riane Eisler is best known for her bestseller "The Chalice and The Blade: Our History, Our Future," now offered in 25 foreign editions. Her research has impacted multiple fields including economics, psychology, sociology, health care, political science, and more. As a pioneer for the extension of human rights protection to women's rights and children's rights, she delivers lectures across the globe to venues including the United Nations General Assembly, the U.S. Department of State, Congressional briefings, and more. Eisler was born in Vienna in 1931 and fled from the Nazis with her parents to Cuba as a small child. She later emigrated to the United States, where she earned degrees in sociology and law from UCLA. Eisler currently teaches in the graduate Transformative Leadership Program at the California Institute of Integral Studies and is Editor in Chief of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Partnership Studies at the University of Minnesota.
