In one method of healing, known as Distant Mental Influence, patients show a tremendous recovery advantage when they receive healing thoughts from afar, even when the patients are unaware of the healing effort.

Dr. Targ scientifically researches the impact of spirituality through lifestyles, practices and techniques, and her studies show the dramatic effects that spiritual healing has on illness. One goal is to further research whether spiritual growth can help actually heal physical illness.
