The Legend of Bigfoot (1976)

Available worldwide

Ivan Marx, a wildlife expert, is often called upon to help resolve difficult situations involving wild animals and human beings. When he was called to help with some bears, he made the discovery of a lifetime. The bears were not the problem. Something strange and elusive had encroached into human territory.

This discovery took him on a trek across the North American West Coast, through the wilds of Canada, and right to the very edge of civilization. This well documented journey highlights the trials and tribulations of his intrepid pursuit as he chases one clue after another. Ample footage of North American wildlife includes some of the most famous footage ever taken of what many people have called, Bigfoot.

He sure makes some giant leaps in logic. This movie made the "movies to Die Before You See It" list. I gotta agree. An hour and 15 mins you'll never get back.

Why is it that the filmmaker can zoom in on pretty much every other animal, enough to capture every detail of their faces, but when it comes to the Sasquatch, he can only get far away silhouettes of him, even though he is the primary subject of the film?

How did I ever live 36 years without seeing this one? It"s been around that long! Better than the tradition of Wild Kingdom! Assumedly actual footage of bigfoot.

A fifties approach to documentary film making with the generic homage to a peaceful, vegetarian kinda Bigfoot, albeit somewhat naive in scope. Many of us now know that they are seen carrying deer, digging up ground squirrels, and tearing dogs apart that give them a hard time. The archaeological rock glyphs are interesting and harken native knowledge of this "Boss of the Woods."
