Dr. David Spiegel, Medical Director of the Center for Integrative Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine, discusses the stress indicators that foretell the development of cancer.

Professor Spiegel is a leader in the field of psychosomatic research, treatment and development with particular interest in the field of psychoneuroendocrinology/oncology. Since beginning research on the effects of support groups for women with metastatic breast cancer in 1976, Dr. Spiegel has conducted numerous studies showing that group psychotherapeutic interventions have positive effects on mood disturbance, coping and pain among these patients.
