Hugo's Green Smoothie

This original green smoothie is Laurentine's go-to combination for breakfast or as a snack that both the kids and parents can enjoy. You can use this recipe as a template and substitute each element depending on the ingredients you have on hand.

In this particular recipe, Laurentine uses coconut milk, avocado, and banana to give the smoothie a creamy texture - this also helps mask any bitterness from the spinach, which is helpful for those first-time green smoothie drinkers.

To sweeten the blend, you can use dates, berries, or another kind of natural sweetener that you have available to you.


(use organic ingredients where possible)

  • 1 date
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • ½ avocado
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • Handful spinach leaves
  • 1 tsp barley grass powder (optional)


  1. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
