Gynostemma is a broad-spectrum adaptogenic herb. Adaptogenic herbs improve the efficiency of the metabolic, neurological, immunologic, respiratory, and endocrine systems. Prolonged consumption of gynostemma strengthens the adaptive capacity of a person at every level of their life.

Ashwagandha is one of the top ten adaptogenic immune tonic superherbs. This highly beneficial plant has a strong traditional use in Northern Africa, India, Pakistan, and parts of Asia. Much like ginseng in effect, ashwagandha acts partly as a sedative, relieving the body from stress, and boosting the immune system to operate at optimum active levels.

Mucuna's active ingredient is L-dopa, which converts into the brain chemical dopamine. The effects of higher dopamine levels in the body include more energy, better mood, and improved mental focus and motivation. Taking mucuna regularly can lead to increased mental clarity and better sleep.

Bacopa is an Ayurvedic adaptogenic herb that is rich in antioxidants. It has gained popularity as a brain tonic that promotes memory and mental alertness. Bacopa is unique in that it is able to increase the intellectual and cognitive function without over-stimulating the body. In fact, it has been found to have a calming and stress-relieving effect, making it an ideal tonic herb to use when under high pressure or within unnatural environments. Bacopa also helps the body to maintain a balanced state while cleansing and detoxifying, or while experiencing other physical, mental, or emotional stressors.

Gotu Kola is recommended for nervous disorders and premature aging. A rejuvenating herb, gotu kola works on improving memory and brain function. Preliminary results from several studies suggest that it may help with memory and cognitive disabilities as well as helping the body overcome stress and fatigue. Discontinuing use of gotu kola is suggested if one is dealing with mild depression.
