An award-winning medical school lecturer and keynote speaker, Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. is an internationally recognized stem cell biologist.
A pioneer in bridging science and spirit, the best-selling author of "The Biology of Belief" is regarded as one of the leading voices of the new biology. After receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist. His research on muscular dystrophy and studies employing cloned human stem cells led to his development, along with colleague Dr. Ed Schultz, of an experimental tissue transplantation technique that was used as a novel form of human genetic engineering.
After moving his focus to the principles of quantum physics in 1982, Dr. Lipton produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed the outer layer of the cell was equivalent to the cell's brain. From 1987 to 1992, Dr. Lipton conducted research at Stanford University's School of Medicine, where his discoveries, which opposed the established scientific views, presaged today's epigenetics, or the study of changes in organisms caused by modification of gene expression rather than alteration of the genetic code itself..
Dr. Lipton applied this science to his personal biology and experienced improved physical well-being and an overall enhancement of the quality and character of his daily life.
