Marinated Tempeh Skewers

Marinated in a delicious sauce and cooked on the BBQ - this is the way to have tempeh.

Serves: 3-4


(use organic ingredients where possible)


  • 2 tbsp tamari
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp tamari
  • 1 tbsp water
  • ½ garlic clove, grated
  • 1 packet tempeh
  • Coconut oil 


  • 1 cup purple cabbage, thinly sliced
  • Handful coriander leaves
  • 1 carrot, cut julienne
  • 2 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 1 chili, sliced
  • 1 lime wedge, juiced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black Pepper, to taste


  1. To prepare the tempeh skewers, whisk all the dressing ingredients together.
  2. Add the diced tempeh and stir to coat with the dressing.
  3. Add coconut oil to a pan or BBQ plate and heat on medium-high.
  4. Arrange the marinated tempeh in the pan and cook until brown on each side.
  5. Remove and thread on skewers.
  6. To prepare the salad, mix the veggies and herbs and drizzle with the lime juice, season with salt and pepper and serve with the skewers.
