Sometimes monthly cycles can be painful and interfere with normal activities. This smoothie is designed to support a more comfortable cycle. Make sure to get enough omega-3s and cut down on sugar throughout the month, as well!

Cacao has more antioxidants than any other food, even more than blueberries, red wine, or green tea. Antioxidants help dilate blood vessels to reduce blood clotting, improve circulation, and to help regulate heartbeat and blood pressure. Antioxidants also repair damage caused by free radicals. Cacao promotes an elevated mood and sense of well-being by increasing levels of the neurotransmitters anandamide and serotonin in our brain. Cacao also helps to reduce PMS symptoms.

Chlorella is a good source of protein, fats, carbohydrates, fiber, chlorophyll, vitamins, and minerals. It is used for many things, including relieving symptoms of PMS.

Chasteberry, also known as Vitex, is an herb with a long history of use for supporting women's health. Although it is most commonly used for menopausal conditions, it is also helpful for reducing symptoms of PMS.
