Fermented Chia Pudding

This single serve breakfast pudding is seriously delicious and unbelievably nutritious.

Why It's Good For You:

The chia seeds are high in omega 3 fats, essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, manganese, potassium and zinc, B vitamins, fiber and antioxidants. The coconut kefir is a source of caprylic and lauric acids, substances that feed beneficial gut microbes. Maca is a wonderful food for balancing hormones and is very beneficial for reproductive health.


Ingredients

(use organic where possible)

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • ½ cup coconut kefir
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp maca powder
  • ¼ apple, grated

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a jar.
  2. Secure the lid and ferment for 8 hours on the bench top before either serving immediately or storing in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Notes*

  • You may use a starter culture of choice. You can purchase starter cultures from health food stores or online.
