Hanumanasana Part 1: A Warm Up (Preview)

Ready to work on your hanumanasana (splits)? This series is sure to open up your stance. Through asanas, Pilates, and other modes of tactile learning, you’ll be prepared to take the giant leap into hanumanasana by the time you complete this training. Practice each sequence several times per week for the best results.

Tune into your creative energy with this gentle warm up to open the hamstrings and find mobility in the spine. Build toward Hanumanasana (full splits) or enjoy this practice on its own as a sweet way to prep the canvas of your body for any time of day. Begin lying down with gentle movements to awaken the spine before moving to several standing wide-legged fold variations.

To open the hips and legs safely we must work all four sides of the leg/hip: the front, outer, inner, and back quadrants.
